     1   If someone is suffering from cough &cold with or without fever what should he/she do?

  •  Immediately go to the nearest health care facility or contact your area PHI or MOH over the phone.

    2   If I am having strong contact history how can I get PCR or RAT done?What is the procedure?

  • Contact area PHI or MOH or nearest hospital and get rapid antigen test or PCR test done according to their advice. Until that have adequate rest,hydration and live separately from your family members and neighbors. Use of face mask

    3  If I am found to be positive for CORVID -19 what should I do?

  • Immediately inform your area MOH or PHI about the situation. MOH /PHI will decide whether to send you to a hospital or keep you at home for providing home base care.
  • If they decide to keep you under home base care, they will provide necessary information.
  • After assessing yourcondition, you will be registered for home base management care and then you will be  allocated to a medical officer.
  • The allocated Medical Officer will monitor you by calling 3 times per day. You can ask any question from that doctor and get clarified.
  •  If you have any symptoms like difficulty in breathing or tiredness, inform your Medical Officer. If you are unable to contact your doctor, go to the nearest hospital in such condition.

    4  If I am kept under home base care management,can I engage in my day today activities?

  • You can do mild work. If possible you can have a pulse oximeter and thermometer at home and measure your oxygen levels and temperature.
  • If you feel any difficulty in breathingor dropin oxygen saturation level less than 96% immediately inform the allocated medical officer.

    5  People who are under home base care are given medicines without seeing the patients over the phone.So how can they get their treatments?

  • The allocated Medical Officers will provide drugs only for your medical symptoms. You can send the prescription to the nearest pharmacy and obtain treatment. If you have any doubt, ask from the allocated medical officer.

     6  When hospitals are overcrowding, how can people find the emergency care facility?

  • Call to 1999 or 247 telephone numbers.

     7  If a person has been discharged from a hospital after acute phase and advised for home care found to be having symptoms like loss of appetite, poor sleep and body ache. In such situations can that patient admit to an intermediate care centers?

  •  Call 1999 or contact area PHI or MOH. They will guide you.

    8  When I have symptoms like fever, loose stools, vomiting and seek medical advice they insist to do PCR or RAT. What shall we do in such situation?

  • In such conditions you need to do that investigations. Facilities are available in private sector and government sector labs. You can get a prescription from a medical officer and get the test done.

    9 When neighboring house members are diagnosed to have COVID-19infection and others get panic, what shall we do in such situation? Any precautions to be taken by us?

  • If you don’t have any close contact with those neighbors, no need to worry. Close contact is anyone who, during infectious period of the case, live with or was within two meters of a person who has COVID-19 for 15 minutes or more of cumulative contact i.e. multiple interactions for a total of 15 minutes or more, even if a mask was worn during that contact or has direct contact with infectious bodily fluid of a person who has COVID-19 (E.g.- shared items such as drinks, personal hygiene items, cigarettes, vapes, lipstick, eating utensils etc.) or was coughed or sneezed on or provided direct care for a patient who has had COVID-19 or has physical contact with a person who has COVID-19, such as handshake, hugging, kissing or sexual activity. Wearing mask is not sufficient to exempt you from being considered a close contact.

  10  When the patient visits to a hospital, as an emergency case some hospitals refuse to admitsaying that they are overcrowded. In such case how does such a patient find a health care facility?

 11  It is said that oxygen requirement will be high in COVID patients and some people purchase oxygen cylinders and keep at homes. Is there any rationale in that?

  • Under the COVID -19 situation, there is no rationale behind that. If someone is having difficulty in breathing and low oxygen level (can be measured using pulse oximeter) need to seek immediate medical care.

 12  If one home is kept under quarantine, they are discriminated by others. This affect the mental condition. How to get mental health support for such people?
