Introducing of the Revised Performance Review Format and the Accompanying Guide
The Directorate of Healthcare Quality and Safety introduced the revised version of the performance review format and the accompanying guide recently. The format and the guide were disseminated to all the hospitals above Base Hospital level and other selected healthcare institutions, and to the Provincial and Regional Director of Health Services Offices, via email.
This performance review format was revised through an extensive consultative process with the participation of relevant stakeholders including Ministry of Health officials, hospital administrators, consultants and other experts in the field, academia, professional colleges, Quality Management Unit staff and other hospital staff. The activity was carried out under the funding of the Health information and Quality improvement Project.
The revised format also contains newly introduced indicators related to Dental Services, HIV/STI, Tuberculosis, Malaria, Disaster preparedness, etc., in addition to the reviewed and revised indicators.
The accompanying guide will facilitate the healthcare institutions in completing the format and presenting the data at the review meetings.
This format is piloted in healthcare institutions from the beginning of 2023. All hospitals are expected to collect data from the beginning of 2023 for completing this format. DHQS will use this format in reviewing the performance from the first quarter review of 2023.
